The CIFP LA FLORA is an Integrated Vocational Training Center inaugurated in 2006, located in the center of the city of Burgos, being the reference center for training in the city for the catering and tourism sector.
The center has eleven units of initial training, two of basic level, of the areas of kitchen, bar and restaurant, four of medium level, of the areas of kitchen, pastry, bar and restaurant and four of superior level, of the areas of kitchen, pastry, hospitality and tourism, as well as a unit of specialization of the area of bakery and pastry. It also gives between three and five training courses for employment in the aforementioned areas annually.
CIFP LA FLORA | School of Hospitality and Tourism of Burgos is recognized for its educational quality and innovation in teaching. In 2011, we received a National Award in Innovation and Career Guidance; in 2017, we were recognized as the best school in Castilla y León; and in 2022, we obtained the seal of Center of Excellence in Vocational Training of Castilla y León, which we renewed again in 2025. This same year, we were recognized as a European Center Committed to Excellence (COVE), as well as the Codice TIC seal with level maximum, distinctions that endorse our commitment to providing quality training for future professionals in the hospitality and tourism sector.
The CIFP LA FLORA, through the work of its teachers has obtained the National Award for Innovation and Guidance in Vocational Training, awarded by the Ministry of Education, in 2011, for the development of an online tool for professional guidance in the area of Hospitality and Tourism.
The CIFP LA FLORA, is a center where its students usually participate in different competitions among which include the SKILLS Vocational Training Championships, in which our students have been gold medalists in the SpainSkills, and representatives of Spain in the specialty of Cooking in the WorldSkills, on two occasions, in the years 2009 and 2018. In addition to winning different awards at national and regional level, among which the GMChef in 2019, the Research and Innovation Awards in Castilla y León in 2018, the Young Art Awards of Castilla y León in 2018 and 2019, in the gastronomy modality.
The CIFP LA FLORA provides training in the field of hospitality and tourism, both initial and training throughout life and for employment. The training offered is of basic, medium and higher level, as well as specialization courses, and being specific to the areas of cooking, pastry, bakery, bar, restaurant, hotel and tourism.
Also, the CIFP LA FLORA organizes and collaborates with companies in the sector in the development of technical conferences for professionals throughout the year, as well as in projects and events of a gastronomic and tourist nature in the city.
The CIFP LA FLORA has a motivated, participatory and technologically prepared staff of approximately thirty teachers, for initial training and for employment, which teaches more than two hundred students in ages ranging from fifteen to sixty years.
Over the years, we have developed more than 12 projects at the national and regional levels, always in collaboration with other centers, companies, and universities, among which the most notable are Innova Culinaria, Guía Visual de Técnicas de Preelaboración, Coctelería C+I.
With the MR-PRECULINARY project, our first international project, we continue to lead the educational transformation in our sector, incorporating virtual mixed reality as a key tool for teaching culinary pre-preparation techniques. We are committed to educational methodologies that combine tradition, innovation, and technology to offer excellent training adapted to the challenges of the sector.

Universidad de Burgos (UBU) is a medium-sized public university located in Burgos, Castilla y León (Spain). Established in 1994, UBU is a young university; with over 8,100 students and 1000 teachers/researchers at 7 centres. Its educational offer consists of 26 degrees, 7 double degrees, 27 masters and 13 PhD Programmes; 5 online degrees and 4 online masters.
UBU develops its mission with a comprehensive and quality education, close to the student, focused on internationalization and which, in only 25 years, has become a reference in Spanish university research and in the transfer of knowledge towards business. At this point, it should be noted that it has been recognized by the Spanish Ministry of Education as a Campus of International Excellence (CIE).
UBU ranks fifth within the Spanish university system according to the 2022 U-Ranking published by the BBVA Foundation and the IVIE. Within the universities of Castilla y León, the institution ranks first in global performance, teaching, innovation and research. UBU is among the first Spanish universities in number of patents obtained by teaching staff, as well as in the number of scientific publications in first quartile journals.
At the same time, UBU is also part of the regional university-enterprise TCUE strategy (https://www.redtcue.es/en/tcue/what-is-tcue), because its relations with companies have become strategic and deployed for the benefit of student employability. In this context, it should be recalled that it has been accredited by The Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R).
UBU has 87 research groups in 5 main research fields (Sciences, Social sciences, Engineering-Construction, Humanities & Health sciences) with consolidated prestige in research and scientific publications.
Regarding EU projects, UBU has participated in 81 projects in 15 different EU programmes with the role of coordinator in 30 and over 14 M€ of funding received.
In the period 2014-2020, on an annual average, UBU was awarded with 9 projects and 1.5 M€ with a success rate of 19%.
Results in H2020: 5th entity (3rd university) in the region with 32 projects and over 7,6 M€ funding awarded. 1st University in the region considering the awarded funds and number of projects per 100 researchers. Results in Erasmus+ programme:
25 projects (75% coordinated) and 1.7 M€ of funding. Currently, UBU participates in 42 on-going projects (in 16 of them as coordinator) in 4 different EU programmes.
UBU coordinates the following projects under Erasmus+ programme KA2: BOTSTEM, EN-ABILITIES, VIRTEACH, FORDYS-VAR, SUSKIDS, EURODDIP-e, SMARTART, YOUNGMOB, TUT4IND, SELFIE, RISKREAL, ACCESSCULT.
And participates in ENOCULTURE, MINDINVERS4ALL and RIMAS. In KA3 action UBU is participating in ROBY and SPEM.
The European Project Office gives support in the coordination of the Erasmus+ projects among others.
The project coordinator “HOTEL SCHOOL” Hotel Management College is experienced in the management of the international cooperation projects including Erasmus KA2 projects, KA1 projects, Nordplus projects, and in the development of the innovative educational materials, digital courses and toolkits like Sustainable Hospitality Digitalisation Toolkit. Also, the project coordinator is experienced in organising training events, international conferences, running the marketing campaigns, and other dissemination-related activities. HOTEL SCHOOL Hotel Management College (Latvia), in Latvian – HOTEL SCHOOL Viesnīcu biznesa koledža, established in 2010, is experienced in education of various levels including higher education, vocational professional education, adult education for local and international students, runs the programme Culinary Arts and is equipped with own professional kitchen and restaurant facilities to ensure teaching/learning process and enable trainings.
The college has several programmes of different levels including the qualifications of cooks and assistant cooks. HOTEL SCHOOL Viesnīcu biznesa koledža SIA (HOTEL SCHOOL Hotel Management College LLC), is VET provider, an accredited HE institution, provider of 1st Level professional higher education (college) and the 4th Level professional qualification (LQF and EQF Level 5) in Hospitality Management. In addition, BTEC Level 5 Higher National in Business, in Hospitality Management/CA. HOTEL SCHOOL has Erasmus VET accreditation and Erasmus Adult accreditation. The organisational structure consists of the Board, College Council, Director, Publishing Department, Library, Research and Project Department, Academic Department, Student Services, Student Parliament, Accounting Department.
HOTEL SCHOOL is experienced partner in HOTEL SCHOOL enable Erasmus KA1 mobilities for students, staff, invited experts in the sectors of Higher education, VET professional education, adult educations, and holds the Erasmus accreditations in all the three sectors. It benefits to the professional experience sharing, international practices by the students, staff and invited experts to participate in the incoming and outgoing workshops, master classes, briefing, idea, expertise aggregation and synergy for the current and upcoming creative solutions. HOTEL SCHOOL holds ECHE Charter, developed strategy for internationalisation and modernisation that will help to ensure the qualitative and focused project management and transfer of the methodologies for capacity building of all involved participants with the aim of internationalisation and modernisation.
University College Prague (UCP) is the private university established by the integration of two small private schools to the Institute of Hospitality Management in Prague. The following study programmes in both bachelor and master degree were opened in 2024/25:

In 2024/25 app. 70 internal and 40 external academicians were teaching in the UCP programmes. In the frame of study programmes app. 1250 students from app. 20 countries were studying. The ratio of foreigners is app. 30%.
UCP is registered in the Czech list of research organisations.
In the frame of research and development activities UCP solved the projects supported e.g. from national research programmes, Erasmus+ or projects assigned directly from practice. Most of projects are focusing on the fields of hospitality and tourism.
